What is the Berthoud SNIPER?
The Berthoud SNIPER system combines high-precision hardware with artificial intelligence technology to create equipment capable of selective application of crop protection products.
The system consists of a computer equipped with AI software and multiple multispectral cameras mounted on the spray boom. It can distinguish between various crop pests (such as weeds) and the crop itself, ensuring that only the areas with weeds are sprayed, rather than the entire field.

Which machines is SNIPER compatible with?
This system is compatible with Berthoud machines from the Vantage, Raptor, and Bruin ranges that are equipped with the Spraytronic system and a heavy-duty spray boom. This system can also be installed and used on equipment that has already been manufactured or is currently in use.

How does SNIPER work?
Multispectral sensors (RGB and infrared cameras) collect data on the plants in the field. This information is sent to the computer, which uses artificial intelligence and specific algorithms to distinguish between crops and weeds. Once a weed is identified, the computer sends a command to the nozzle corresponding to the area to be treated, and the system sprays the solution only there and only at that exact moment.
In addition to the advanced green-on-green spraying mode described above, it can also operate in green-on-brown mode, spraying only where plants are present, regardless of the type, rather than across the entire plot.
