FieldView Drive 2.0 in Romania, for automatic field data collection
- FieldView, Bayer’s digital farming platform, is launching a new version of its in-cab device, FieldView Drive 2.0
- The new device brings significantly higher processing power, expanded storage, and integrated GPS signal conversion
- The new GNSS conversion module simplifies equipment use by eliminating the need for an external converter
Bucharest, 22 June 2026 – FieldView, Bayer’s precision farming platform, announces the launch of FieldView Drive 2.0, a redesigned version of its plug-and-play in-cab device for agricultural machinery. The new device brings significantly higher processing power, expanded storage, and integrated GPS signal conversion—essential improvements for farmers to collect more reliable data during seeding, spraying, and harvesting operations.
FieldView Drive 2.0 is equipped with a new multi-core processor, which offers 12 times more processing power than the previous generation. The device also includes Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity for data transfer, as well as 32 GB of internal memory. Together, these improvements reduce connection interruptions and allow for the management of larger data volumes, performing multiple operations simultaneously without lag.
The integration of a GNSS conversion module allows for the direct processing of RS-type serial signals, without the need for an external serial-to-CAN Bus/ISOBUS converter. This functionality extends the device's compatibility and allows it to be used with a wider range of agricultural equipment, including older models.
Like the first generation, Drive 2.0 connects simply to the standard 9-pin ISOBUS diagnostic port. Farmers using mixed fleets, consisting of machinery from different manufacturers, can connect and record data from the entire farm using a single device.
Alin-Sebastian Nemțisor, Digital Farming Solutions Lead at Bayer Crop Science Romania, states: “At Bayer, we believe that data transformed into decisions represents one of the most important competitive advantages for today’s farmers. With FieldView™ Drive 2.0, we are making digital technology even more accessible and easier to use, giving farmers a clear view of field performance and supporting them in unlocking the full potential of their farms.”
Looking to the future, Bayer is already developing additional features for Drive 2.0, including wireless prescription transmission and direct file transfer to machinery. These features will eliminate the need for manual file loading via USB sticks and will be available through future software updates.
Kaloyan Kumanov, Administrator of NIK Balkans, states: "In Romania, many farms operate with mixed fleets and equipment from different generations, making technological compatibility essential for adopting precision agriculture. By collaborating with Bayer and launching FieldView Drive 2.0, we are supporting farmers with a solution that integrates more easily into existing operations and reduces the technical barriers that can slow down digitalisation. It is an important step towards farms that are more connected, more efficient, and better grounded in the reality of the field."
FieldView Drive 2.0 is available in Romania from 22 June 2026 and is compatible with existing FieldView Plussubscriptions. In Romania, the equipment is sold through NIK Romania, as part of the ongoing collaboration between Bayer and NIK to provide local farmers with user-friendly precision agriculture technologies tailored to their field requirements. NIK Romania is a trusted partner that understands the needs of Romanian farmers.
